Miu Miu Patent Leather Basket
I had to post this Miu Miu Patent cutout basket bag as seen on net-a-porter. A steal at £484. This basket inspired leather bag is just simply amazing.

Personally, i would just want to walk around with it empty, but that might look a bit strange. I love it , i love it, i love it. But it might ruin it if there is something inside.

This caged structured bag reminds me of the plastic bag collaboration between the Campana brothers and Melissa shoes. This is one of just a few bags that they do.

Much more unstructured but a similar light feel.

Margaret Howell and Head Porter Collaboration
These bags here are the result of the various collaborations between iconic english designer known for her classic style and japanese bag company known for their edgy, iconic (and overpriced bags). I have to be honest and say that i'm not sure this match is one made in heaven.

The Japanese are known for their individual style and we all know that they love english classic styling but just throwing these two together and waving a magic wand for a bag collaboration isn't necessarily going to work straight off... and i don't think it does.

These courier bags are like cheap Porter versions with no real distinguishable personality. They are neither Margaret Howell or Porter but somewhere in between.

Raf Simons Eastpak collaboration SS09
Spring Summer 2009 is the third season for the Raf Simons / Eastpak collaboration. The collaboration has proved a huge success and the stories keep getting stronger and the bags sexier each season.

The inspiration is haute travel, its a futuristic, modern approach to the romance of old fashioned travelling.

The story comes through clearly in the leather detailing and touches such as the luggage tag and use of metallic leathers.

The bag styles are modern interpretations of old fashioned styles. Backpacks remain slouchy but keep details such as buckes and traditionally cut leather.

I had a sneak peak at the spring summer collection at Bread and Butter this year and took some extra shots of the detailing. The mirror effect leather compliments the the navy blue thick canvas on this oversized hobo.

The styles are also all unisex which also compliments eastpak's brand.

The denim works in with the natural belting leather on this slouchy backpack.

Eastpak's sporty heritage comes out with the use of mesh which adds a futuristic and modern edge to this travel bag with traditionally shaped handles.

Raf Simons and Eastpak

Raf Simons has teamed up with eastpak in this fancy backpack collaboration. Eastpak is best known for their iconic backpack shapes worn by millions and Raf Simons... well, to be honest i didn't even know who he was before this collab. But apparently is a belgian fashion designer who started off as a product designer.

He was probably best known as the creative director of Jil Sander. You can see that these bags are rather slouchy and dare i say oversized. They also have a very 80's feel about them, this especially comes through in the print design and colour blocking.

They also remind me a bit of the marc jacobs strappy white canvas backpacks that i have featured in here earlier.

The collaboration with eastpack seems to be a great partnership, a real refresher to their long standing iconic styles but with a pricetag of about €300 i don't think i will be seeing young skaters sporting them.
