Translucent Satchel

The Cambridge satchel company has set the tone for this long living trend of satchels. We've seen bright pop colours, neon and now we have this translucent style. None of the lux details are lost in the leather trim. A nice bag spotted at London Fashion week ss13.

PROENZA SCHOULER SATCHEL

This was my favourite bag of the moment about a week ago, its the luscious Proenza Schouler satchel. Its understated, classic and you can't go wrong with the colour. I'm not sure what my favourite bag is right this moment, I think its the humble canvas shopper which i have a new appreciation for.

I still love it though, i think i have convinced myself not to like it so much because i would never be able to afford it.

FENDI BAGS INSIDE OUT

These current Fendi bags are a design classic. This season sees them transform from the inside out. The subtle luxury of the brand is hidden on the inside of the bag, luscious leather and microscopic beading adorns the inside rather than the outside.

Of course we all know that the bags are carried 'open' letting it all hang out is a fashion must for all the ladies lucky enough to sport one of these. Who cares if you lose your blackberry, just buy a new one!

Hidden luxury is in, ostentation (is that a word?) is sort of sliding out.

Not necessarily a key trend in China but just wait, its taking off.

MUMS CHANEL HANDBAG

When i was last home in Australia in june, i subtly raided my mum's wardrobe looking for those designer handbags that i vaguely remembered.

This one was probably bought in the 80s or early 90s and mum so kindly let me borrow it, or gave it to me. Luckily i have no sisters to contest this, as it is a highly sort after Chanel classic which i love and cherish.

I only use it on special occasions, but i am not so good at keeping things in mint condition. i don't suppose hanging it behind my door with a thousand other pieces of junk and bags is all that good for it, but storage space in my tiny place in london has a lot to be desired. If anyone has any good bag storing tips, please share.

Classic Clutches

Time for a bit of credit crunch cutting back. These classic clutches are the way of the future. Beautiful, simply constructed and non-ostentatious, the 'it' bag of the future.

Proenza Schouler as seen all over the streets in the arms of gorgeous celebs.

Chanel 2.55 enough said.

A top shop interpretation. Nice

The famous Mulberry clutch with the classic antique gold clasp. A timeless classic.

Louis Vuitton and Stephen Sprouse

Here are a couple of pics of the result of Stephen Sprouse's collaboration with humungous fashion house Louis Vuitton. It launched at the beginning of 2009. Its luxury fashion meets street sport cool, from shoes, bags and other small accessories, this collection is pretty out there and colourful. Bold, expressive and brave are also words that come to mind.

I wish i could say that i hated this collection but the truth is, i don't. I think it rocks.

I'm not sure if i would ever be caught dead wearing any of these items but i'm sure there are alot of people who would. Its going to be ripe for knock-off city though, just you wait, all those chinese manufacturers are going to start leaking wonky versions of this purposefully wonky print.

Crochet counterfeit bags

Watch out, these bags can be really deceptive to those unfamiliar with the genuine article.

Gucci hobo with 'd' ring hardware detailing

I think these crochet bags are just craft heaven!! imagine the amount of detailing that has gone into creating these beauties. I would love someone to turn up to a catwalk show with one of them though, that would be a great laugh! Anyone know where you can buy one?

Hermes transparent Birkin Bag

Not exactly related to bags, but i'm thinking of starting a jewellery blog. What do you think?
Please inundate me with comments!

More transparent bags to come. this looks like a lame post so far but believe me, there is more to come!

And of course, Chanel with the clear 2.55 style handbag.

Givenchy Nightingale IT bag

The 'it' bag of 2007 some might say. This is the Givenchy Nightingale bag, still being seen about town.

The shoulder strap as well as the grab handles make this a really versatile construction. The signature detailing of the handle base shape make it recognisable. As an 'it' bag, i think its a timeless piece worthy of the title.

Marc Jacobs Stam Bag

Marc Jacobs Stam bag, named after model Jessica Stam was first seen on the New York catwalks in Autumn / winter 2005/6. Was the 'it' bag of the season the following year.

Available in a range of colours and materials, most iconically known for its quilted leather construction and heavy gold chain shoulder strap.

With its frame construction in clutch style, it has a really versatile look and is wearable by a huge range of women.

Burberry Warrior Bag - This season's IT bag?

Would you pay £13,000 for this season's 'it' bag?

So we're being told that this is this season's IT bag. The Burberry Warrior bag. I think we should all go out and buy one with a price tag of £13,000 its definitely a sound investment! OK, its only the full aligator skin, if you are a cheapskate you can buy a more streamlined version made from humble lizard or python.

I have to say that i prefer this version to the one with all the pirate's treasure stuck on.

Here is the more simplified version in white which i don't think works quite so well with the dark coloured metal eyelets. I would have liked to see this with all white metal hardware to match.

And in black, it has a nice shape and style and i say go Burberry! beat the italians at the it bag game at least for one season! Actually the plain black leather version is only going to set you back £1,595. You can check the full range out on http://burberryusaonline.com
