The Mobo (mans hobo)

In line with a move towards a more unisex feel, the mobo (male hobo) is going to be big this season with mens and women's shapes merging. Its a cross body format often with additional grab handles. Soft, floppy construction worn by men and women. Can also just be worn over one shoulder sometimes with an adjustable shoulder strap.


Fashion designer Gaspard Yurkievich has teamed up with French retailer La Bagagerie to launch a collection of bags, luggage and clothing called BAGGY.

Billy Bag at PURE, London

I went to the PURE tradeshow in London this week and saw a sneak peak at Billy Bag's coming collection for Spring summer 2009.


The dark wooden frame in combination with the ethnic inspired print really works to create a modern hippy look.


I think of knitting needles when i see this bag. Its an evening bag with a twist.


This faded printed hobo makes a real impact, it looks like it has been left in a puddle but is part of the placement print. I think it really works.

Puma bag by Jacqui Ma

Good evening all. I ran out of inspiration for what bag to post today so thought i would stick up one of my earlier failures with puma. I'll leave you to decide for yourself. It was an early prototype for a new Lydia Hearst collaboration which got canned after most of the work was done.


White body with a couple of splashes of blue in the form of a 'waist belt' and highlighted zip track.


Very subtle Puma branding... in fact its just on the zip pulls and the applique cat logo on the base in body material.


I like the combo of mesh with PU (fake leather), the contrast is a real Puma thing.


I like it but i'm selling it right now to fund my retirement so check it out for yourself.

Burberry Warrior Bag - This season's IT bag?

Would you pay £13,000 for this season's 'it' bag?

So we're being told that this is this season's IT bag. The Burberry Warrior bag. I think we should all go out and buy one with a price tag of £13,000 its definitely a sound investment! OK, its only the full aligator skin, if you are a cheapskate you can buy a more streamlined version made from humble lizard or python.


I have to say that i prefer this version to the one with all the pirate's treasure stuck on.



Here is the more simplified version in white which i don't think works quite so well with the dark coloured metal eyelets. I would have liked to see this with all white metal hardware to match.


And in black, it has a nice shape and style and i say go Burberry! beat the italians at the it bag game at least for one season! Actually the plain black leather version is only going to set you back £1,595. You can check the full range out on http://burberryusaonline.com

Marc Jacobs Christy Leather Shoulder Bag

This Marc Jacobs Hobo bag is really clean and classic. Its the kind of bag that is going to be practical for everyday use and the quality looks superb.


The clever pocket details give a signature Marc Jacobs twist. The integration of function (pockets) into fashion is a combination that Jacobs often gets right. The price tag is £630 so start saving.

Hobos

Ribbed hobo. The texture on this bag reminds me of tripe. However, thats not to say i don't like it.

Balenciaga. I love the idea of this bag and i love the execution. In fact, i would do one days hard labour to own this bag.

Vivienne Westwood. Signature style, so iconic. Its literal and its punk, but it rocks.

What brand is this? This is a strange bag, i'm not sure whether i like it or not, but the construction seems very harmonious. I have to admit, i like it.

Bottega Venetta woven hobo. This is my bag, actually i just sold it on ebay. I love the construction and the way it fits nicely against the body. I really wanted to keep it but i didn't want to get too attached.

Not sure what brand this bag is. The drop bottom combined with the slimness of this bag makes is so cute and unsual yet so simple and understandable.

Coach. I like this bag. Even though i don't like most coach bags.
